In a multicultural environment where more than 50 people from different countries are living, eating and enjoying artistic journeys together, every day there is a meeting of different cultures. This wide reaching topic looks to explore and understand what happens when people from different cultures meet. Why do some cultures clash? What is Culture? What is it based on? Where do prejudices and stereotypes come into it? How deep do shared values go? How can you work smoothly with someone from a different culture? Through discussions, lectures, simulations and self reflection the students will touch on this anthropological subject, using examples of their experiences in their everyday life in the højskole to test theories. The subject will also touch on Cultural identity, Tolerance, culture shock and critical thinking.
